Most people own more tools than they use, and the reason is almost never the tools. It is that nobody told them the order, so every session feels like a decision.
Here is a sequence that works, plus a weekly split so you are never doing all of it at once.
The order, in one line
Cleanse → cleansing tool → device that needs bare skin (LED) or conductive gel (microcurrent) → serum or ampoule → moisturiser → sculpting tool with slip (gua sha or roller).
- Bare-skin tools always come before products
- Slip tools always come after them
- One device per session, not three
Why bare-skin tools go first
LED needs nothing between the light and your face, and cleansing tools obviously come before anything you apply. Microcurrent is the exception that needs its own medium — conductive gel, not your serum — so it also sits before your actives.
Why sculpting tools go last
Gua sha and rollers need slip, and the cushion of a facial oil or moisturiser is exactly that. Using them on dry skin drags. Working over freshly applied product also gives you a reason to slow down and finish properly down the neck.
Do not stack every device in one sitting
A cleansing tool plus LED plus microcurrent plus gua sha is around 30–40 minutes of standing at a mirror. Almost nobody sustains that. Give each device its own evening and your routine survives a bad week.
A weekly split that holds up
This is the schedule we suggest to customers who own three or more tools. Adjust it to your devices' manuals, keep one night completely free, and treat the free night as part of the plan rather than a failure.
- Mon / Thu — LED session on bare skin, serum after
- Tue / Fri — microcurrent with conductive gel
- Wed / Sat — cleansing tool, then gua sha over moisturiser
- Sun — nothing. Skin and habit both need slack
Morning versus evening
Mornings suit fast, cooling, low-commitment tools — a chilled roller, a quick cleansing pass. Evenings suit anything with a timer. If you only have five minutes a day, put them in the evening and pick one device.

Questions we get asked
Do I use an LED mask before or after serum?
Before. LED works on clean, dry, bare skin so nothing blocks the light. Apply serums and moisturiser after the session.
Should gua sha come before or after moisturiser?
After. Gua sha and rollers need slip from an oil, serum or moisturiser — using them on dry skin drags the skin.
Can I use LED and microcurrent on the same night?
You can if your device manuals allow it, but back-to-back sessions add up to 30-plus minutes at the mirror. Giving each device its own evening makes the routine far easier to keep.
How many tools do I actually need?
One you use beats three you don't. Start with the tool that fits the time of day you are realistically free, then add a second only once the first is a habit.
